LCCS provides Adult Day Programs at all three Support Centres and Overnight Respite Programs at our Toronto location. Lusa’s programs have been successfully supporting social inclusion for our participants.
Our Adult Day Program offers individuals the opportunity for continued learning and developmental growth through stimulating, interactive activities delivered through a structured schedule. Activities are geared to promote social, physical and mental well-being and addresses the important aspects of social inclusion; encouraging participants to achieve their full potential.
Activities are structured to encourage full participation, engagement and ensures participants receive dynamic programs, new experiences and life skills’ learning opportunities. The diverse range of activities ranging from educationalbased activities such as numeracy, literacy, science, computer instruction, life skills, fine and gross motor activities, daily physical activity and sensory engaging activities including snoezelen experiences. In addition, programming encourages arts, crafts, drama, music, dance and social activities to facilitate social and communication skills. Lusa’s focus is being able to engage and reach out to our participants, who have varying levels of ability, fulfills our mission ensuring every individual feels included and valued.
Overnight Respite Programs are available seven days a week at the Toronto centre and provide families and caregivers with the opportunity to leave their loved ones for temporary overnight stays while under the care of our kind and attentive staff. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with seven rooms to support individuals with various levels of ability. Coined the “Lusa Hotel” by one of our regular “guests”, the decor and atmosphere feel like a home away from home.
