Halton Down Syndrome Association provides programs and activities for all age groups, ranging from newborns to adults with Down syndrome and various supports to their families and caregivers. Our organization is active on school boards, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and posts monthly website newsletters. We provide bursaries, scholarships, host a walk to raise awareness of Down syndrome, coordinate bowling, skating, yoga, swimming lessons, picnics and other community events. We celebrate World Down Syndrome Day each year by engaging schools to create their own awareness events to build bridges of understanding about the Down syndrome community. Parenting workshops, 1:1 reading workshops for students with Down syndrome, Tots groups, Newborn resource packages, New Parent, High School and Graduate groups are just some of the many opportunities for people with Down syndrome, their families and the broader community to connect, learn and grow.
